E-Book Follow-up!

After Linda's post asking what we readers prefer (e-books or traditional paper), I decided to recycle this quote from Kristin Nelson's blog. Ms. Nelson is a literary agent based in Denver, Colorado!

All I can say is whoa. Who turned on the ebook sales? In five years, I’ve never seen numbers like I’m seeing from the past 3 or 4 months. Ereaders were THE gift this holiday season is what I’m thinking. About 6 months ago I said the tipping point was near. I think it’s here.
So there you have it. The words of an industry professional! Uh, I guess I need to buy an Ereader so I can decide what I like best.

The new question to pose is: KINDLE or NOOK?

Mrs. Nelson is SOO right. My e sales went NUTS after Christmas. Like 300% higher than they were before. I just got an Android tablet to use as my ereader. I'm still waiting for it to get here. Between the two of them though I think I would go with the Nook, but only the colored one. I understand the concept of being easy on the eyes with the Kindle but I have a hard time buying a new piece of technology that isn't color ;)

Thank is 1) awesome for you 3) very interesting in general. Do you really think more people are buying ebooks rather than traditional paper? It's just so hard to believe.
I've heard companies are completely scrapping any ebook design without color. I can understand why since getting my Nook Color - love it!

Yes, the NOOK does look awesome. This is going to be a tough choice, Sylvia.
I debated this for myself before Christmas. Which did I want? In the end it came down to the fact that with the Kindle, I could only get ebooks from Amazon, but with the nook, I could get books from just about anywhere (libraries, especially).

I love my nook.
Nook! All the way! How can anyone turn down the opportunity to borrow books from the library?
I sooo want a Nook. But I don't have one. I think if you are going to have an electronic version of your book then make it available on Kindle and Nook. Definitely make sure you have a cover with it! I can't stand when there's no cover and it's the title page. Even if it's black and white I like a cover. Okay I'm going on and on about the cover. LOL I like both print and electronic versions of books. But definitely a Kindle...since I have one!
I've been wanting an e-reader for the longest time, simply because of my location. Glad I stopped by as I didn't realize that with the Kindle, you can only get books from Amazon. Following you now as I'm in the crusades!
Why not just get an iPad or a Xoom tablet and use both the Kindle and the Nook apps respectively. Then you have a tablet and can enjoy all the benefits of both eReaders and they are in color as well.
