"What's your bookprint?"--Social Networking based on book preference

Scholastic says a bookprint is "the list of books that leave an indelible mark on our lives, shaping who we are and who we become." Scholastic just launched a new social networking site where you can connect with people around the world based on your taste in books. Create a profile, select the 5 books that have most influenced your life, and be matched up with like minded readers. Are you a reader like Bill Gates or Taylor Swift? Find out who reads the books you read.

You are what you read.

  1. That's really interesting. On one hand, it's an obvious marketing bonanza. I bet Scholastic can pinpoint the books you'll buy and ways to use this info in like, half a second. But on the other hand, I find it intriguing. I'd love to connect with people who have the same taste and interests and just sort of see what and which books have significance for people.

    Thanks for sharing.

I did go to the Scholastic site and thought it would be fun to participate.

  4. I started my profile but haven't finished! Can't wait to see who I "read" like lol. Have fun with it, guys.

Perri: I also agree. It seems like a marketing stunt. A great one, though. I have a feeling many more companies are going to release social networking sites if they haven't already. Most things in this world are about making money, I guess. :-/
